This journey combines the best of a remote and off-the-beaten-track area of Sapa. The highlights include accommodation at the unique Nam Cang Riverside House, remote walks along beautiful terraced rice fields with spectacular view of Hoang Lien Son, a stretch of Himalaya mountain range, visit the ethnic minority villages and explore Sapa town, the old French Hill Station.
Day 1 : HANOI – NIGHT TRAIN TO LAO CAI (-/-/-)

Pick up at your hotel in Hanoi at around 20:00 hrs and transfer to Hanoi train station.
Overnight train trip to Lao Cai in shared sleeping compartments (sharing with other passengers in 2 lower & 2 upper berths per compartment). Train departs at approximately 21:15 hrs.

Day 2 : LAO CAI – SAPA – THANH PHU – MY SON – NAM CANG (B/L/D)

Arrive at Lao Cai railway station early morning. Meet your guide then take journey starts with a 38 km drive on winding roads up the mountains to Sapa, located approx. 1,500 m above sea level.
After breakfast at local restaurant, head off into the beautiful Hoang Lien National Park by car, along the road you will have chance to see the vast rice terraces and a hopefully the high tops of the mountain range. Soon your guide will introduce you to the biggest group of minorities in this area, the colorful Black H’mong people, famous for their indo colored cloths and silver necklace. The walk is on a good path and will take few hours, plenty of time to learn about history and traditional customs.
You will then continue the transfer deeper into the valley and cross the beautiful Muong Bo River before reaching Thanh Phu village of Tay minority. Here you will see the big difference in culture as the group wears lighter colors of silk clothing. Your lunch will be served next to the rice fields in a local restaurant.
After lunch the tour continues to the small village of My Son and an interesting afternoon walk. This remote tribe is the smallest minority group in Sapa area and home to Xa Pho people. In the afternoon you will arrive in the remote and quiet Red Dao village of Nam Cang. Walking along the small roads you will soon understand that this is “off the beaten trail”, people are looking happily. Finally you will cross a private bridge and check into the comfortable Nam Cang Riverside House. You can now explore the village or relax in the river, subject to weather condition, or at the riverside veranda.

Day 3 :NAM CANG – TOPAS ECOLODGE – SAPA – LAO CAI – NIGHT TRAIN TO HANOI (B/-/-)

Wake up to the sounds of nature. The day starts with a nice breakfast served just few meters from the river. The morning is for relaxing at the house or visiting the surroundings.
Nam Cang is a small village with a quite big school, which gathers the children from other nearby villages. Play with the cute and curious children; visit a silversmith; learn how to make the Red Dao traditional writing papers, try to test your embroidery skill, which the Red Dao women are famous for; or take a swim in the river (weather permitting)
After saying goodbye to the friendly villagers, transfer to Topas Ecolodge, where you will have lunch while enjoying amazing view of mountains and endless paddle rice terraces. The lunch expense is on your own and the restaurant offers an a la cart menu with wide choices.
The walk after lunch is easy and no less interesting. You will visit the nearby Lech village, also habited by Red Dao people. Same as in Nam Cang, the women here wear some of the most colorful and diverse costumes of all Vietnam’s ethnic groups.
You will then walk back to Topas Ecolodge for the transfer to Sapa town.
At 17:30 hrs transfer to Lao Cai for the night train back to Hanoi.
Overnight on train, departure at around 20:15 hrs (shared sleeping compartments, sharing with other passengers in 2 lower & 2 upper berths per compartment).

CANCELLATIONS
• Refunds will not be given for unused or cancelled services after the tour arrangements have commenced.
• FIT (Individuals): Cancellation charges are calculated from the day the written notification is received by the company or agent as a percentage of the net total tour price as shown plus any surcharges (e.g. ticketed air sectors, other penalties imposed by suppliers such as hotels):
• Between 29- 21 days before departure: According to the costs incurred will be charged
• Between 20 days and 15 days prior to departure: 25% of package price
• Between 14 days and 8 days prior to departure: 50% of package price
• Between 07 days and 2 days prior to departure: 75% of package price
• 1 day prior to departure or no show: 100% of package price
• GIT (Groups): Cancellation of tours due to minimum number of participants will be advised 6 weeks before departure of the tour; in which case Happy Go Travel will offer an alternative tour of a similar standard or a full refund. Cancellation policy for GIT bookings will be advised separately case by case.
