DAY 1: HANOI – NIGHT TRAIN TO DONG HOI (-/-/-)

Evening: Pick-up at your hotel in Hanoi and transfer to Hanoi Railway Station. Board the night train to Dong Hoi (local train, sharing 4-berth air-conditioned compartment).

Train journeys are part of a great local experience. Cabins are shared with other local passengers (unless private cabin is requested and all berths paid for - with supplement). Restrooms at either end of the carriages complete the local experience.

DAY 2: DONG HOI – PHONG NHA CAVE – DONG HOI (B/L/D)

PHONG NHA – KE BANG WORLD NATURAL HERITAGE SITE
  Upon arrival at Dong Hoi Railway Station, meet your local tour guide and have       Vietnamese breakfast at a local restaurant.
Drive up north to Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park and take a boat trip on the Son River from a critical point of the legendary Ho Chi Minh Trail to the Phong Nha Cave. About 300 caves have been counted in this area so far. This proves the significance of this karsts cave system of which Phong Nha Cave, known as being among the longest and most beautiful karsts caves in the world, has been listed by UNESCO as a world natural heritage site. The boat will take you as far inside as Bi Ky chamber where you will find traces of ancient inhabitants.
Back at the pier, you will have lunch at a local restaurant and then drive about 25 km to visit Thien Duong Cave (Paradise Cave), another huge and beautiful cave just opened to the public.

Return to Dong Hoi. Check-in at the hotel and time at leisure.

DAY 3: DONG HOI – VINH MOC TUNNELS – DONG HA – KHE SANH – HUE   (B/L/-)

This morning, head south to Hue. On the way you will visit some of the war sites of the Vietnam-American War, including the Vinh Moc Tunnels, Ben Hai River, Hien Luong Bridge, Khe Sanh military base and Dong Ha Town. Have picnic lunch at a simple restaurant. Next stop will be the ancient citadel of Quang Tri which was built in 1824, during the 4th year of the reign of Emperor Minh Mang. The citadel still bears the scars of one of the fiercest battles during the Vietnam-American War.
Upon arrival to Hue, drop off at the hotel of your choice (accommodation in Hue is not included).

CANCELLATIONS
• Refunds will not be given for unused or cancelled services after the tour arrangements have commenced.

• FIT (Individuals): Cancellation charges are calculated from the day the written notification is received by the company or agent as a percentage of the net total tour price as shown plus any surcharges (e.g. ticketed air sectors, other penalties imposed by suppliers such as hotels):
• Between 29- 21 days before departure:  According to the costs incurred will be charged
• Between 20 days and 15 days prior to departure: 25% of package price
• Between 14 days and 8 days prior to departure: 50% of package price
• Between 07 days and 2 days prior to departure: 75% of package price
• 1 day prior to departure or no show:   100% of package price

• GIT (Groups): Cancellation of tours due to minimum number of participants will be advised 6 weeks before departure of the tour; in which case Happy Go Travel will offer an alternative tour of a similar standard or a full refund. Cancellation policy for GIT bookings will be advised separately case by case.

• HOTEL ONLY
• Between 29- 21 days before departure:  no charge
• Between 20 days and 15 days prior to departure: 60% of accommodation price
• Between 14 days and 0 days prior to departure: 100% of accommodation price
• Certain Hotels impose stricter cancellation policies which will be advised separately.
