Day 2: LAO CAI – SAPA – MUONG HOA – THANH PHU - NAM CANG   (B/L/D)
Early morning arrival (approximately 06:30 hrs) at Lao Cai, the border town to Yunnan, China. The journey starts with a 38 km drive on winding roads up the mountains to Sapa, located approx. 1,500 m above sea level.

CYCLING THROUGH BEAUTIFUL LANDSCAPES DEEP INTO THE VALLEY
After breakfast at a local restaurant, the mountain biking tour starts from Sapa by a descent downhill on a windy road running along Muong Hoa valley, which is home to the Black H’mong, Giay and Red Dao ethnic minorities. Enjoy the amazing scenery of mountains and rice paddy terraces. After a short break in Su Pan, continue cycling downhill on a paved road, some parts are bumpy. Before noon, your ride will be more challenging with about 10km up and down. The view is still amazing with the Muong Bo River snaking its way in the bottom of the valley. You will soon reach the Thanh Phu Bridge, from where you will take a short heartbreaking ascent to the Thanh Phu village of Tay ethnic minority. Here you will have lunch while experiencing the hospitality of the Tays.

The ride in the afternoon is short but almost uphill. You are now in the remote area of Sapa which few tourists would know. The area is dominant by the Red Dao ethnic group. Beautiful view of deep valleys, waterfall and paddy rice fields are within your sight.

By mid afternoon you will be arriving at the Nam Cang Riverside House which is perfectly located by the Muong Bo River. It will then be time for stretching your legs or visiting the village. Enjoy dinner in the sounds of nature.

Day 3: NAM CANG – NAM THAN – NAM CUM – SAPA  – LAO CAI – NIGHT TRAIN TO HANOI (B/L/-)
VISIT BLUE H’MONG VILLAGE AND EXPLORE HIDDEN VALLEYS ON BIKES

Wake up in the fresh and beautiful environment of the remote village. Have breakfast on the House’s terrace, just a few meters from the river.

The ride today is much shorter and you will gain less elevation than the previous day, but it is no less challenging and interesting. It will require lots of your concentration as it is mostly on hilly off-road paths without the supporting vehicle. You will first cycle uphill to Nam Than village, the only place where you can meet the Blue H’mongs. You are deeper in the valley where the local hill tribes have hardly seen tourists visiting their home on the bikes. On the way, you will visit the Red Dao minority villages of Sin Chai and Nam Cum. If it is a school day, you will be welcomed by the small boys and girls with their eyes wide open as they are not yet familiar with tourist.

Enjoy lunch at a nice spot on the way. Afterwards cycle back to the Thanh Phu bridge, for transfer to Sapa town for a short stop before departing to Lao Cai for the night train back to Hanoi.
